Dog rehabilitation and rehabilitation training

I have been taking in dogs for rehabilitation for decades and used to work for the Labs Trust where, as you can see, I was kept quite busy! I have worked for numerous charities over the years where often behaviours needed to be resolved before the dog could be rehomed or the charity needed an honest assessment as to the overall temperament of the dog. 

Over the last few years the focus of my business has changed and we do not run residential stays as a commercial business, but I do take dogs under exceptional circumstances. This is usually to help out a family who need respite or there is an emergency where needs necessitate immediate action.

My primary concern is to ensure that both the families and animals are safe and not living in stressful situations. If you meet these criteria then read on…

 

After consultation with you as the owner, we might decide together that residential training is the best option for your dog. I work with your dog following a plan that we will agree. I will provide regular updates so you can see how we progress. 

Usually residential training lasts one or two weeks, but I have learned over the years that you can never put a time on how long it will take – it could be two hours, it could be two weeks. I tend to make a flexible plan with you so that we really get the most of the time we have but never keep the dog longer than is needed.

At all times you are in control of how much you spend – I know sometimes these costs can run away.

“So pleased we found Ian but we had a difficult journey to get here! Lots of disruption in my young Springer’s life due to having to spend lots of time away with my terminally ill father. Long story short I had lost connection with my lovely boy, unavoidable but difficult to come to terms with.
